Regional quarterfinals recap: Niles North

Wheeling and Buffalo Grove cruised in regional quarterfinal match-ups at Niles North to advance to the regional semi-finals.

The first match of the night saw Wheeling roll over an error plagued Niles North squad, 25-19, 25-16.

Wheeling had kills from eight different players as setter Jessica Janowski distributed the ball throughout the match.

Niles North was led in kills by freshman right side Esma Ajanovic with 11.  Wheeling will face off against the three seed Loyola Academy on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.

In the late night match, Buffalo Grove, led by setter Maggie Streckert, easily defeated Hoffman Estates 25-8, 25-8.

The Bison were led in kills (10) by Claire Ferriss and digs (7) by Riley Cross.  

Buffalo Grove will face MSL rival Schaumburg on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. This will be a rematch of last week’s match in which Schaumburg, the MSL West champion, won in straight sets.
