But in the end, none of that mattered as the Wolverines erased a 16 point deficit to defeat the defending and previously unbeaten state champions Morton 45-44.
The Warriors, led by the trio of Gugliuzza sisters didn’t let the bright lights affect their game as they beat Bolingbrook by a score of 68-57, and will face off against Fremd in the 4A title game.
This time around, the Vikings topped Darrione Rogers’ Lake Park squad, 46-34 to advance to the state final for the third time in six years.
The Wolverines defeated usual, but young, state power in Montini 48-40 to advance to the state finals, a first for their girls program.
