After a 31 year absence, the girls basketball state championship trophy will take back residence in Des Plains after the Warriors capped off a perfect 35-0 season with a 58-46 win in the title game over Mother McAuley.
Refreshing, invigorating, whatever you preferred adjective may be there was really only one word that could aptly sum up Maine West’s performance in the state semi-finals.
Rankings for the week of 2/24

Maine West utilized their speed and mix of defenses to defeat Marist 64-44 and finish their regular season with a flawless 28-0 record.

The 14th ranked Trevians overcame a plethora of turnovers to defeat the #13 Wildkits 46-45 after Tinah Hong calmly sunk two free throws with just four seconds remaining in the contest.
When the dust had settled the Wildkits 54-46 victory behind an outstanding second half from Evanston senior guard Jaheim Holden.
