Welcome Letter

Dear readers,

I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the brand new, Illinois Preps Insider website. Illinois Preps is a site dedicated to provide high quality content for all things surrounding Illinois high school athletics.

My name is Luke Drase, founder of Illinois Preps. I was born and raised on the Northside of Chicago and grew up in high school gyms all around the Northern suburbs, often keeping the score book for my dad as he coached Saturday morning JV basketball games.

Although my early aspirations were to become a professional athlete, I soon discovered that the particular career path I originally carved out was not a viable option and moved on to the field of sports journalism.

I received my undergraduate diploma from Marquette University in 2015, and just recently completed my M.A. in Sports Journalism at St. Mary’s University, located in South-West London.

I am very excited to start this journey with all of you and am looking forward to provide new and exciting content for all things relating to Illinois high school athletics.
