Illinois Preps Insider’s Girls Basketball top-20: Week One

Maybe it was a bit early to write off Mother McAuley.
The Mighty Macs had a very nice win over Libertyville and took care of business against their other opponents. There are a lot of different pieces on that team but Jenna Badali is as good as advertized, and Bella Finnegan has taken a huge step forward so far.
I try not to get too high or too low on teams after the first week of games, but that Simeon win over Bolingbrook was extremely impressive. This will probably be the biggest jump I will ever have for a week one rankings, especially when you consider the teams they passed didn’t even lose this week.
Business as usual for most of the top-20. Libertyville and Stevenson remain for the time being, cause again, don’t want to make wholesale changes in the first week, but St. Viator and Thornwood drop out.
