Propelled by a big first half performance, No. 9 Loyola held on to defeat Trinity (6-2) 50-42, winning their seventh straight contest and improving to 8-1 on the season.
Now that we are a few weeks into the season, here is our inaugural girls basketball top-25 for the Chicagoland area.
It’s not too often that a regular season non-conference game can tell you a whole lot about a team’s state title chances.
But Maine West’s 60-51 win over Beaver Dam (WI) during the Fremd Chicagoland Invitational Showcase did just that.
Evanston fed the post early and often en route to a 53-45 win over New Trier to open up the CSL South season.
Thursday night’s gritty, 63-56 win over Maine South to open up conference play went a long way to help erase any doubts that people may have had about New Trier, while giving them a leg up in what is sure to be a tight conference race.
With only Thanksgiving tournaments to go off of, we set out to complete the unenviable task of trying to predict where the six teams in the CSL South will fall this season.
