Illinois Preps Insider’s girls basketball rankings: Week 9

The end is near

With seeds being released this Thursday, most teams only have one more game to improve their resume before entering seeding meetings. Teams like Whitney Young and Marist have a ton to gain with matchups against top-5 teams, while others could easily drop a seed line or two with a loss.

Amazingly, the top-10 remain completely the same for the first time all season. We’re long past the point of knowing who the real contenders are.

Glenbard West keeps rolling, they have won 19 games in a row after starting the season 4-3.

Loyola’s rematch against St. Ignatius went pretty well if you’re a Rambler fan.

I was pretty disappointed with Glenbard South, don’t know if they had an off game but they tumble out of the rankings for the time being. Games like those make you realize why the four class system is in place.

1. Montini (26-2) 1

Finally got a couple of out of state wins.

2. Maine West (22-1) 2

Third straight CSL North title. 27-1 over the past 3 seasons

Closest game in a long time against DGS

4. Nazareth (21-2) 4
