Illinois Preps Insider’s girls basketball top-20: 2019-20 Week 7
A little more movement than normal in the post-holiday tournament rankings. That’s due in large to the Grow The Game Tournament and Shootout, and the second Chicagoland Showcase, this time at Benet.
In state teams had a rough go against some out of state competition, but not enough to knock anybody down a spot. I believe Morton is the only team in the state that is still undefeated, so nobody is going to be pulling a Maine West this year.
Speaking of Maine West, we haven’t talked about them much, but they finally managed to beat Geneva.
Libertyville made me look really good by solidifying their place in the rankings against HF, so I appreciate them for that.
Finally saw Whitney Young play and I’m just not convinced. Kayla Green and Timia Ware are probably one of the best backcourt duo’s in the state, but there’s not much else there right now.
Two new teams enter as McAuley continue their yo-yo season in the rankings.
