Illinois Preps Insider’s girls basketball top-20: Final rankings

The season ended just as it seemed to begin. But hey, people got what they wanted.

For the first time all season, the number one team has changed, which I think was the longest time the pre-season number one has spent time at the top.

A lot of teams in the Western Suburban Conference ended up in the top-20 this season, that was a really good league this year, and that’s not even including the likes of Glenbard West.

Libertyville finished incredible strong and Kenwood finally upended Simeon to take the city title, without Brianna McDaniel mind you.

There weren’t a whole lot of games this week, we were just waiting for the city schools to finish up so lets just get right into the rankings.

1. Hersey (16-0)

2. Kenwood (13-0)

3. Simeon (11-1)

4. Marist (15-1)

5. Libertyville (16-2)

6. Loyola (19-2)

7. Benet (11-1)
