With conference play beginning this week, we take a stab at predicting what the final standings of the CSL North will look like.
Despite the constant lineup flux, the opportunities given to different players have started to pay off for Loyola, as the Ramblers easily handled Niles North 25-14, 25-18 to improve to 8-6 on the season.
The two powerhouse programs faced off for GBN’s home opener where the hosts came back after a poor opening set to beat the Tigers 22-25, 25-19, 25-14 to improve to 3-3 on the season.
After being down as many as four points late in set three, Maine East closed out the game with seven straight points to defeat Notre Dame 21-25, 25-15, 25-22 to claim their seventh win of the season.

The Warriors attacked from all areas of the court in their 25-19, 25-14 win over Warren to start their 2018 campaign 1-0.
For the second night in a row, extra points were required to win a decisive third set as Vernon Hills defeated Glenbrook South, 25-23, 20-25, 26-24 to start their season on a high note.
It may have only been the opening match of the season, but Monday nights contest between Libertyville and New Trier had a playoff-like atmosphere.

As last years Morgan Park were accepting their championship medals, then junior standout Ayo Dosunmu was required to take to the podium on crutches.
One year later, Dosunmu finally got his opportunity to showcase his abilities on the big stage, claiming the class 3A title game scoring record with 28 points and leading Morgan Park to a 71-56 win over Southeast for the Mustangs second consecutive state title.

On Tuesday night, Evanston dismantled Lake Zurich 78-52 to claim the Sears Center super-sectional and advance to Peoria for the first time in a decade.

North Chicago’s sectional “drought” ended on Friday night with a 66-58 win over top-seeded DePaul, setting up a date with Boylan Catholic for the chance to head back to Peoria.
