Evanston fed the post early and often en route to a 53-45 win over New Trier to open up the CSL South season.
Thursday night’s gritty, 63-56 win over Maine South to open up conference play went a long way to help erase any doubts that people may have had about New Trier, while giving them a leg up in what is sure to be a tight conference race.

Two weeks after having their perfect conference season ended by Niles West, New Trier ended they Wolves season, beating them 25-20, 17-25, 25-19 to advance to the sectional finals.
Top seeded Glenbrook North defeated Leyden 2-0, while the third seeded Evanston beat an excellent New Trier squad 3-2 to set up a rematch of last year’s sectional final.
