Girls basketball rankings week 2
Propelled by a big first half performance, No. 9 Loyola held on to defeat Trinity (6-2) 50-42, winning their seventh straight contest and improving to 8-1 on the season.
Now that we are a few weeks into the season, here is our inaugural girls basketball top-25 for the Chicagoland area.
It’s not too often that a regular season non-conference game can tell you a whole lot about a team’s state title chances.
But Maine West’s 60-51 win over Beaver Dam (WI) during the Fremd Chicagoland Invitational Showcase did just that.
Evanston fed the post early and often en route to a 53-45 win over New Trier to open up the CSL South season.
Maine West beat GBS 60-35, keeping their perfect record intact, while handing the Titans their first loss of the season.
